Our Day of Sharing is this weekend, December 6 and 7, at Country Kitchen. I’m demonstrating several decorated cookies, including these Santa beard and mustache cookies on a stick. I tested these exciting cookies on my nieces when we were celebrating Christmas over Thanksgiving weekend. They were a huge hit with the girls!
The cookies were cut using a mustache cutter from Fred set, and the santa beard, made from the pattern (pdf file here). Both were cut, then the mustache was placed on top of the beard and gently pressed to connect the beard with the mustache before baking. After the beard/mustache cookies were baked, I added extra icing on the back to tightly secure the stick to the cookie and added extra icing on the back to secure the seam of the mustache and beard. When cooled, the cookies were iced with white run sugar icing. When the icing was set, I piped details using tip #1.5, then flocked using white sanding sugar.
These Christmas tree treats in girly colors with sparkle were made for my book, Decorate Cakes, Cupcakes, and Cookies with Kids. Cayman, a great friend of my daughter and my sister-in-law, Kelly, decorated these treats. This was one of the two projects that got cut from the book. Buttercream is used to pipe leaves on the tree cookies (tip #352)and the tree cake (tip #366). The trees on the cupcakes are made using the tree cutter from the Winter Cutie Cupcake Set. Disco dust is used to provide the most vibrant sparkle. Disco dust isn’t food approved, so technically, the ornaments and star on the tree and the trees on cupcakes should be removed before consuming.
These Christmas cookies are covered with rolled fondant using various texture mats from my Cookie Cutter Texture Sets. The holly is created using a plunger cutter from PME. Fine details were piped with royal icing.

This collection of treats is from my book “Complete Photo Guide to Cake Decorating”. I am so excited! I just heard that I may be receiving a copy any day! It is officially out February 1. (Preorder on Amazon.com or Country Kitchen SweetArt) This cake is covered with chocolate panels using light blue chocolate and snowflake chocolate transfer sheets. The decorations are created with gum paste and PME’s gum paste Santa cutter. The snowflake cookies were made with my snowflake cookie cutter texture set using light blue fondant and piped royal icing designs. The Oreo cookies were dipped in light blue chocolate and decorated with piped run sugar accents.
I have several designs of Cupcake and Cookie Texture Sheet Sets coming out early next year. The sets will include mats with designs for cupcakes and round cookies. Each set will include three different designs. These sheets will make decorating easy! The sample below is from my Whimsy Floral set. Other sets will be Classic Floral, Geometric, Scrolls, and two Christmas sets.
This collection of treats celebrates jolly, ole Santa Claus in the classic Christmas colors. The santa face embellishments are pre-made royal icing pieces that make decorating quick and easy. Instructions for these treats can be found on Country Kitchen SweetArt website.

I had a lot of fun creating treats for my daughter’s cupcake birthday, so I repeated the theme, adding candy canes, for a “Sweet Christmas”. Directions for these treats can be found here: Country Kitchen SweetArt
