I had a ton of fun writing this book. I was fortunate to have many of my friends and family willing to participate with their kids. I also had all four of my kids in the book. Even though my older boys were nearly 16, they agreed to be part of the book. Dan Brand was once again the photographer and did an amazing job photographing the kids and projects. He has quite a way with kids! Two of his own beautiful girls are in the book. The book contains a couple hundred photos, but Dan took thousands! I’ll post some of my favorites that didn’t make the book soon.
It’s time to start thinking about spring! I was inspired by the chick and lamb plastic rings that were used as the cupcake accents. The lamb and chick cakes are made using a sphere cake pan. The cakes are covered in fondant and have fondant accents. The cupcakes are super easy and are made with colored flaked coconut using the Easter rings. The cookies are made with oval and circle cookie cutters and are covered with rolled fondant. Specific instructions for each project can be found on Country Kitchen SweetArt’s website.
I’m so happy with how my book turned out! I worked with a great publishing company, and Linda, my editor was so easy-going and helpful. I hope more books are to follow! I must give my mom a great big thanks for all her help and support on the book. Also, Bruce, my husband, was my biggest cheerleader (cliché… i know…but true!) He was super supportive of the hours that it took to complete this book. The book can be ordered from Amazon, or from Country Kitchen SweetArt. If ordering from Country Kitchen SweetArt, you receive my fabric texture set free, which is a $14.95 value!
